2018 Ciu Ciu "Merlettaie" Pecorino

This delightful Pecorino displays exactly the indigenous Italian white grapes provide such a fantastic value when it comes to crowd-pleasing versatility. First floral, especially redolent of acacia and apricot blossom, it then segues into ripe peach and apples on the palate with an engaging juxtaposition of acidity and a slight honeyed character. Perfect for hard cheeses and aperitif drinking.

2016 La Monacesca "Mirum" Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva

93 points James Suckling: " A complex, quite flinty verdicchio with a ton of citrus fruit and pears and a rather succulent but not heavy palate. In fact, the finish has a nice lightness of touch and some real finesse. Drink now." (08/2018) K&L Notes: The Matelica region of the Marche is one of the most unique growing zones in all of Italy; it is a north-south valley in the middle of the Apennine mountain range that once was a salt lake. The orientation of the valley closes it off from the warm coastal waters (the opposite of the west coast of the US) a ...

2015 Santori Rosso Piceno

Every time I hear the words Rosso Piceno I get excited because I know I’m going to get a wonderful wine! OK, that’s not really the case and as a retailer I have the opposite reaction because it’s almost impossible to sell a wine that no one has ever heard of. I wouldn’t call the Marche a forgotten region—because it was not ever known! You may think that I’m a Marche basher for starting out this way, but it’s the opposite. The Marche is one of my favorite places in Italy. It reminds me of what Italy was like 40 years ago, unspoiled. You won’t meet your ne ...

2015 La Monacesca "Camerte" Marche Rosso

91 points James Suckling: "Very ripe red fruit on the nose for a wine from the Marche. A hint of balsamic vinegar, too. But this has good structure and a lightness of touch at the finish that’s very typical for the region." (11/2018) K&L Notes: The Matelica region of the Marche is one of the most unique growing zones in all of Italy; it is a north-south valley in the middle of the Apennine mountain range that once was a salt lake. 2016 Belisario "Cambrugiano" Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva

Producer's notes: "It is the wine with which Belisario has experienced the greatest emotions. It was the first Verdicchio in the "Riserva" type. Produced since 1988 only with Verdicchio grapes vinified with the method of cryomaceration. It matures in steel and partly in toasted oak barrels for at least a year and is refined for another year in the bottle. The complexity of the production is the complexity of its organoleptic heritage: the Marche hills, the Mediterranean sun, floral aromas, vanilla, great structure, savory, persuasive, harmonious. To be c ...

2015 Filodivino "Filotto" Verdicchio Castello di Jesi Superiore

Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of scorched earth, ripe yellow apple and a whiff of toasted nut lead the nose. On the medium-bodied palate, fresh acidity offsets dried yellow peach, a hint of citrus zest and bitter almond. (KO)" (12/2018)
