1991 Chateau de Vacquié 27 Year Old Unfiltered Haut-Armagnac (750ml)

Easily one of the most picturesque properties in the Gers, Chateau Vacquie has extreme potential thanks to its special terroir and passionate proprietor. There's absolutely nothing typical about Chateau Vacquie or its owner Bruno Compagnon. While the area is not particularly renowned for great wine or brandy, this special domaine has been identified by experts as being of exceptional quality. Most notably Aubert De Villaine, a friend of Bruno's who's personally examined the domaine and declared it be one of the finest in the southwest. The gorgeous 1991 ...

1991 Matanzas Creek Sonoma Valley Merlot

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both the 1991 and 1990 Merlots should turn out to be knock-out wines. Moreover, both wines should offer up to a decade's worth of hedonistic drinking. The 1991 reveals that tell-tale smoky, coffee, mocha nose that reminds me of one of my favorite flavors of ice cream from Baskin-Robbins - Jamocha Almond Fudge. In the mouth, the creamy texture, sweet ripe fruit, and lusciousness make for a delicious glass of wine. These top class Merlots remain the benchmark for this varietal in California. 1991 Groth "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "Racy, curious, yet highly individualized style. Strong herbaceous streak, but there are currant, mint, black cherry and bell pepper flavors that are long, complex and concentrated on the finish. (JL, Web-2002)" K&L Notes: The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes that make up Groth's Oakville Cabernet blend are grown on estate vineyards grown in the Oakville AVA, in the heart of the Napa Valley.

1991 Spottswoode Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1991 marked the last vintage with Tony Soter and Mia Klein. The year was the most abundant in Spottswoode’s history, producing 5,852 cases of a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc. Interestingly, this was also one of the great early stars in the tasting, showing that high yields can (when conditions are perfect – and they were in 1991, with a long growing season with plenty of sunshine, but no real extreme heat waves). This wine still has a dense, ruby/bluish-purple color, full body, a stunning ...

1991 Jordan Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is an insatiable demand for Jordan's user-friendly, blackcurrant-scented and flavored Cabernet Sauvignons. The 1991 is more reserved and structured than most Jordan Cabernets. It exhibits medium to full-bodied, clean blackcurrant fruit, a subtle touch of oak, adequate acidity, and a spicy, long finish. 1991 Far Niente Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A top-notch effort from Far Niente, this 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon requires several more years of cellaring as it remains closed and forbiddingly backward and tight. From its opaque ruby/purple color, to its impressively pure, rich nose of cassis, herbs, and oak, this full-bodied, powerful, highly extracted, moderately tannic Cabernet is a candidate for 10-15 more years of cellaring. Don't be surprised to see this wine merit an outstanding score in 6-7 years. (RP)" (02/1995) Wine Spectator: "Supple and elegant, with a fine ...

1991 Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Wine Spectator: "Dark color. Sturdy, rich and concentrated, with complex currant, black cherry, tar, and plum flavors. Lacks the finesse and extra dimensions of the Special Selection, but still a very impressive, concentrated wine. (JL, Web-2002)" Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Dark ruby/purple-colored, with an intriguing nose of spicy new oak, blackcurrants, and a pronounced herbaceousness, this wine exhibits lush, medium to full-bodied, flavors, moderate tannin, fine ripeness, and the lavish oak Caymus Cabernets routinely display. (RP)" (10 ...

1991 Glenmorangie "Grand Vintage" Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

Two profoundly different whiskies married in implausible harmony, create the rich, plum taste of Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1991. Aged for 26 years, the fourth release in their exclusive Bond House No. 1 Collection owes its fruity depths to two rare parcels of 1991 whisky which, ordinarily, would never be brought together. Long matured in bourbon casks, each was then finished for more than a decade – one in oloroso sherry casks for sweetness and spice, the other in burgundy casks for earthy and truffle notes. At first, their characters seem utterly ...

1991 Palmer, Margaux

Decanter: "Overall, I very much liked the nose of this wine, which seemed at first to show just a hint of roasted bell pepper. The April frosts of this vintage challenged many vintners but, as Duroux explained, Palmer's terroir handled that challenge very well. Small quantities of wine, but very good. It seemed to improve in the glass and displayed a real smoothness on the palate. Surprisingly good. Three stars going on four." (01/2010) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Palmer's 1991 is a noteworthy effort. The deep ruby/purple color is followed by aroma ...

1991 Judd's Hill Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points and a Spectator Selection from the Wine Spectator: "Packs in lots of ripe, juicy plum and currant flavors that pick up subtle herb, tea, spice and tobacco notes. Has an elegant, supple, polished texture, with oaky vanilla notes lingering in the background. Impressive for its subtlety and finesse. Best after 1998. 1,500 cases made." (09/94)

1991 La Jota "Howell Mountain Selection" Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker: "The 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is 4-6 years away from enjoyable drinking. It is a dense, full-bodied, bruiser of a wine, with an opaque color, and a promising but restrained bouquet of minerals, smoke, and blackcurrants. Full-bodied, rich, and intense, as well as tannic and backward, it is a wine made for the long term rather than immediate drinkability. This is an immensely impressive Cabernet Sauvignon. La Jota's three 1991 red wine offerings are all noteworthy. This winery has established a reliable track record ...

1991 Cos d'Estournel, St-Estèphe

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cos d'Estournel's 1991 (about 50% of the harvest was declassified) is one of the wines to buy given its relatively low price and fine quality. It displays a dark ruby color, and a big, rich nose of cassis fruit married intelligently with spicy new oak. Offering surprising fatness and fleshiness, fine length, and a sweet, creamy texture, it should drink well for at least a decade. (RP)" (02/1994) Wine Spectator: "One of the best wines of the vintage. Well focused, with lots of chunky fruit. The vanilla, tobacco and chocol ...

1991 Montrose, St-Estèphe

Jancis Robinson: "Bright crimson. Very grown-up minerals sort of nose with lots of development. Lift and lightness on this wine with real confidence and it’s ready to drink. Perhaps not an enormous depth of fruit but nice balance and very refreshing. Quite racy. And then sinewy, dry, angular on the finish. There is real lift in this wine but the tannins are a bit dry. 17/20" (02/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1991 reveals a dark, saturated color (one of the most opaque wines of the vintage), and a tight but promising nose of sweet, jammy, bl ...

1991 Far Niente "Dolce" Napa Valley Dessert Wine (375ml)

94 points Wine Spectator: "Smooth and generous. A lush mouthful of fig, honey, pineapple and pear flavors that swirl and linger seductively on the rich texture. Long and delicious, this feels ready now, but could develop more depth with cellaring... (Web Only—1998)" K&L Notes: From Matt Kramer's New California Wine: "In 1991, Far Niente's owner, the late Gil Nickel, decided that he wished to re-create, as best as possible, a Sauternes-style wine in Napa Valley. Much to everyone's astonishment--my own included--he has succeeded... What's impressive is ju ...

1991 Dow's Vintage Port

92 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and gorgeous, with flowers, berry and plum. Full-bodied, very sweet and round, with lovely rich fruit and a long finish. A tiny bit of heat, but will come around nicely. Very pretty indeed. Hard not to swallow now. (JS)" (05/2005) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The firmly-structured, moderately tannic, impressively colored and concentrated 1991 Vintage Port is less precocious and more reserved than the 1992 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port. It may develop along the lines of the stern but powerful 1977. The wi ...

1991 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie (97JG, 94ST, 90RP). John Gilman: "I still have a few bottles of the 1991 Gentaz Côte Brune in my cellar and I will not be planning on opening a bottle for at least another five to ten years, as this is a remarkably young wine still at age twenty-two! The young and beautifully complex nose soars from the glass in a magical mélange of cassis, black pepper, smoked meats, stony soil tones, black raspberries and a smoky topnote redolent of bonfires. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a very stony signature of soil, firm, ripe tannins and a very, very long, poised and youthful finish that still shows just a bit of its youthful stemminess. This will ultimately be one of the greatest vintages ever produced by Monsieur Gentaz in his long career, but I would definitely keep it tucked away in the cellar for several more years to come, as there are layers and layers of comp
