2018 Commanderie de la Bargemone Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rosé

SKU #1406799 91 points Jeb Dunnuck

The 2018 Coteaux D'Aix En Provence Rosé is also terrific. Based on Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, and Vermin, it has clean, crisp notes of white peach, salty minerality, and white flowers as well as a medium-bodied, balanced, chiseled style on the palate. It’s another smoking good wine from this estate. (9/2019)

This rich, structured wine, with its high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, is ripe and fruity. It has a plenty of orange peel and red-berry freshness, finishing with a warm, full aftertaste. Drink from late 2019. (RV) (6/2019)

The terrific (and fairly priced) 2018 Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Rose stood out among the 139 rosés I tasted blind during my late February trip to Provence. It combines hints of cantaloup with cassis in a medium-bodied, silky-textured wine that shows just a hint of leafiness on the finish. The blend is 40% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah, 10% Cinsault, and 5% Rolle. (JC) (4/2019)

Brilliant peach skin. Ripe, mineral-tinged strawberry and tangerine scents, along with a subtle lavender nuance that builds in the glass. Silky and focused on the palate, offering lively red berry and citrus fruit flavors underscored by a dusty mineral element. Picks up a deeper nectarine quality on the dry, nervy finish, which lingers with very good, floral-tinged persistence. (JR) (8/2019)

Great rosé with intensely aromatic nose of grapefruit hard candy and a touch of rose petal. Dry, crisp and refreshing are the perfect easy descriptors for this pink wine but what I really liked were the red apples with a twist of blood orange! So yum!
