Graham's 10 Year Old Tawny Port

SKU #240009 92 points Decanter

The nose and are palate nicely aligned here, with notes of roasted nuts, caramel and cinnamon accompanying red-berried fruit, leading to a full, spicy finish. (Panel Tasting) (1/2018)

92 points Wine Spectator

Date, fig and mulled plum fruit flavors form this broad and juicy core. Cinnamon, black tea and hazelnut notes fill in the background. Shows some power, with the cut and drive for balance. Drink now. (JM) (6/2018)

91 points Wine Enthusiast

The wine is rich, ripe and fruity with good acidity as well as a bite of spirit and old-wood aging. It is well balanced, keeping the freshness of a 10-Year-Old while also showing good signs of its wood aging. Just what a 10-Year-Old should be. (RV) (12/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Tasted at John E. Fells portfolio tasting. This 10-Year Old tawny has a vibrant, citrus nose with touches of sloe, Clementine, fresh ginger and lemon rind. It leaps from the glass. The palate is smooth and viscous with notes of dried mango, sloe, a touch of eau-de-vie, ginger and cloves. Nice weight on the finish with that warmth of alcohol keeping you snug and warm. Tasted September 2009. (NM, Wine Journal) (5/2010)

K&L Notes

Graham's was founded in 1820 in Portugal's Douro Valley, and sits among the country's elite Port houses. For their aged Tawny Port bottlings, Graham's sources grapes from the pure schist soils of vineyards in the hot and dry mesoclimate at the heart of the Douro Valley. The 10-year has a deep tawny color and profile, but retains still retains a hint of fresh fruit at its modest age. Nuts and figs grace the nose and palate to represent Graham's house style of richness and versatility.

This is a good port to serve with a non-chocolate dessert course. The bombastically nutty and spicy profile complements your dessert course beautifully, when a more delicate style of Tawny would get crushed. Try it with creme brulee or pumpkin pie! An open bottle in the fridge will change very slowly, so pour it when called for... it will last for weeks or even months.
